This is a reminder for the end of the season bowling party that we are planning at the Bloomer Bowl Friday, May 2nd at 8:00PM .We will be bowling two games. $2.75 per game, plus $1.00 for shoes if needed. The members will pay for their games. First game we’ll bowl regular, and the second with the opposite hand. If someone gets a strike when there is a striped head pin, they will receive a 6 pack of pop. Also we will give a 6 pack to the high and low scores. The club will pay for pop, beer and pizza. If you plan on bowling, please call 568-2570. I need to get a count to the Bowl to reserve enough lanes. Even if you do not plan on bowling, but would like some pizza and refreshments, you are welcome to come to eat, drink, and watch. Come join the fun. Hope to see you there!!!!!!

 April ‘08 Newsletter

April 4th Meeting 8:00PM Logger Bar, Last one of the year Scholarship Applicants MUST READ their essay at this meeting.

Wow! What a season. We’ve been waiting for this for a long time. Before I get too far into the letter, I’d like to take this time to Thank all of you that joined our club this year. As a state wide recreation, we need all the support that we can get. We ended up with 86 members, 4 short of the 90 we had last year. At our March meeting, we had $2956.00 in our checking. Dave Reischel gave his report on the CVSO. There was information given on the Miss Snowflake contest. If there are any young girls (16 - 21 ) that would be interested in this contest, give me a call for the information. We then had discussion on a fun night of bowling. A date of Friday, May 2nd at 8:00PM at the Bloomer Bowl has been set. We will bowl 2-3 games. The cost of bowling will be $2.75 per game per person, plus $1.00 for shoes if needed. The games will be paid for by the people bowling. The club will pay for pizza, pop and beer. Please call 568-2570 if you plan on bowling so I can make sure enough lanes are reserved. Any members and your family, even if you are not interested in bowling but would like to come and watch and have some pizza and refreshments on the club as kind of an end of the season party you are also welcomed. Hope to see you there. Right now we are planning on playing one game, teams being of your choice regular bowling. Then the second game will be the same teams, but bowling with their opposite hand. The striped pins will be in place. If someone gets a strike when the striped pin is the head pin, you will win a 6 pack of pop. I may send out a reminder when this gets closer. We had a little discussing on having some type of on the trail wiener roast to invite passing snowmobilers to stop by for a hot dog or marshmallows over a fire with some hot chocolate. We will discuss this at future meetings. There was discussion on our winter display we have at the Bloomer North Park at Christmas time. After so many years the paint is fading and from bolting together year after year the wood is giving out. It’s time to redo it, replace it with something else or discontinue to do this. We are looking for suggestions. We will discuss this at future meetings. At the end of the meeting there were some comments and reminders. Would there be any interest in a summer picnic? Randy Sarauer has been our Head Groomer for the past couple of years. He no longer will be doing this. We will need someone to step forward to take this position. If not, we need to let the CVSO know that our club will no longer be able to run this groomer. If anyone is interested, please call me. The Bloomer High School is looking for volunteers for their April 26th SADD program. Even with the season over, we are still looking for pictures for our website. It was brought up about getting signs made up for on the trails as to who the landowners are. Discussion about the trail going through the woods to Rock Lake area. Can something be done about the wetland? And the Sno-Hawk’s Scholarship being offered to our members, remember you need to be a member to apply and receive. And you need to read your essay at the April meeting. If you have any questions on any part of this letter please give me a call at 568-2570. At the April meeting we will be voting on the scholarships. Finishing touches on the end of the year bowling party. Say thanks and goodbye to Glynis for her work for the past 6 years as Sec/Tres. Info from the AWSC for Young Snowmobiler, Snowmobile Family, Snowmobile Dealer, Groomer and Snowmobiler of the year awards. If anybody has ideas for the fair booth and parade, we are open for suggestions. Hope you all have an enjoyable summer.

Until next season.
